Creative Media and Game Technologies

Im looking into applying for this study, but I would like some additional information about the intake assignment. Im mostly interested in creating characters, but it says Ive to create a functional game level, so what's expected of me?

The intake is supposed to be a way for you to figure out what part of creative media development would be the best fit for you. It's important that you at least try to make a functional game level. This means that even if you aren't good at it, just follow a few tutorials on making a simple level in Unity or something. You gotta show that you're willing to broaden your skills, and not just stay attached to a single skill like creating characters. But again, doesn't have to be good. My level was horrible and way too hard, but at least it showed that I was willing to try new things.

If you want help with this, we've got people in our CMGT Open Day server that could help you figure out what to focus on and what to just copy from the internet: https://discord.gg/JTx8pdT

But again, we highly recommend trying it out. Within our program, you'll be met with a lot of new software and ways of making creative media. Whether that be 3D modelling and animation as an artist, technical prototyping and UI/UX as a designer, or whatever coding magic 3D rendering the engineers do.

Hopefully this helps somewhat! Good luck with your intake assignment.
