Do you think there are opportunities for successful working carrier because Saxion is Hogeschool, not University?
    Alexandro

    Davide

    Hi Alexandro!
Not a single doubt about that! The sole variable I would take into account for your evaluation is the country where you'd like to work. For example, Germany and France are titles-based countries where there is a common believe that the more titles you have the better you are at your job, but you will need a Master's for that anyway.

Saxion, in particular the IHRM program prepares you very well for your future career. During your studies, you will have loads of practical assignment that will challenge your full knowledge and skills to deliver ambitious results and recommendations for real companies (like IKEA, for example).

Companies nowadays do not focus on where you have studied, and in most cases not even on what you have studied, as long as you possess the skills and attitude to fit the job and the culture. What is very important to consider (and Talent Managers know this well): you can learn new knowledge, but it is far more difficult to fit in a culture if you are not ready for it, and companies know this.

Besides, you mentioned career opportunities: I work for Danone, a classmate works for O'Neil, another one for Saab, or Green Peace, Grand Vision, Bosh, etc...

University of Applied Sciences or University (of Research)? The choice is yours. If you are keen on learning both skills and knowledge to get ready for the job and understand since day one how to apply them in practice on assignments, then go for Hogeschool. If you love research and study theoretical models, then go for a University.

I hope this answers your question. Furthermore, I'd like to invite you to join the Open Day of Saxion on November 15th. I will be there and I'd love to answer your questions.

    Best of luck!

Are there sports classes included in the program or sports is addition free time activity?
    Tim
asked 1 year, 8 months ago
    Davide
told 1 year, 8 months ago

Hi Tim, IHRM Is humanistic study and, therefore, sport activities are not a complementary part of the program. However, there is plenty of time to pursue your healthy interests off school-time.
I hope you enjoy your studies at Saxion!

During the first, second, third and fourth quarter the exams are on which week?
    Jame
asked 1 year, 9 months ago
    Davide
told 1 year, 9 months ago

    Hi Jame,
Exams are normally in week 9 and 10 of the quarter. Retakes are in weeks 6 and 7. Be aware the last quarter is one week shorter, meaning exams would be in week 8 and 9. Retakes in week 4.10
Good luck with your studies ;)

What are requirements for laptop for this program? Does it matter if the laptop is Macbook or laptop with Windows?
    Alexander
asked 1 year, 10 months ago
    Davide
told 1 year, 10 months ago

    Hi Alexander,
I would just recommend something light, with a good battery life and comfortable to use everywhere. You will need it a lot. Also, you do not need special software, only Microsoft Office, but you will have access to that through your Saxion account.
    Hope this helps.
    Have a great day,
    Davide

What is the minimal required grades after finishing school?
    Shon
asked 1 year, 11 months ago
    Davide
told 1 year, 10 months ago

    Hi Shon,
    Thank you for your question!
There is no minimum grade required to be admitted to Saxion, unless you want to apply for a scholarship. In this case a higher grade, will give you a higher position in the list. For more information, please check saxion.edu/scholarships
    Have a wonderful day,
    Davide

Do school books have online pdf or students have to buy paperbooks?
    Parent
asked 1 year, 11 months ago
    Davide
told 1 year, 11 months ago

Hello, some books may have e-versions available, but not necessarily. It's up to the student which version he or she gets. The School provides extra literature like articles, papers, etc, but the main book is responsibility of the students and has to be purchased or borrowed from the library.

Let us know is you have any other question!

When Saxion would sent email with information about the program (additional information, I already read the information in Saxion's site)
    Alex

    Davide
told 1 year, 11 months ago

    Hi Alex,

What would you like to know?
All you need to know for now is the time of the introduction week (last of August) and the first week of class (first week of September). Around July you'll get an email with more information anyway, including books list.

    Cheers,

    Davide

    Hi Edin,
Thanks a lot for your question. The IHRM study has a study association called Humanity. They often organize drinks and activities to have fun in the city, so you can join when you have extra free time. Here you can find their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/svhumanity/
    Hope this helps :)
Have a wonderful start of your time at Saxion!

Do students have accounts for Microsoft apps from university or they use their own?
    parent
asked 1 year, 11 months ago
    Davide
told 1 year, 11 months ago

    Dear parent,
Students at Saxion can use their email address to login to Office 365 services, ranging from email to the extended Office Suite. On top of this, it is possible to download the software on the PC.
I hope this answers your question thoroughly.
    Regards,
    Davide

HelloI have information that I must have a minimal result of 6.0 in each part of IELTS exam. Is this true or I must have overall band of 6.0 (it doesn't matter if I have 5.0 or 8.0 in writing while the overall band of ALL components is 6.0)
    Daniel
asked 2 years, 2 months ago
    Davide
told 2 years, 2 months ago

    Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your question and glad to see you are interested in IHRM!
You need a minimum of 6.0 for each component. Should you have a lower score, you may need to consider one of the Preparatory Courses, based on the score.
Let us know if we can help you further, and maybe visit us on Saturday, 16 March 11:00-15:00 in Enschede for the Open Day. :)

Hello,I am going to study IHRM at Saxion. Could you give me more information about the online assessment which is part from the entry requirements. Is this kind of language test? Or something else?
    Alex
asked 2 years, 4 months ago
    Davide
told 2 years, 4 months ago

Hi Alex, the online assessment is not a language test. To certificate your language skills you would need to take an English test like IELTS or TOEFL. You can find the general entry requirements here https://www.saxion.edu/site/programmes/degree/entry-requirements/.
The online tool you are talking about is intended to have a first impression of your knowledge and skills and serves for orientation purposes. Its completion is conditional for the admission, while his results are not. The assessment is also useful for you to know how compatible you are with the program. I hope this answers your question :)

Should you have specific questions about the admission procedure and the enrollment, you can contact the International Office via Facebook through this link https://m.me/saxionuniversity
For any other question about the IHRM program, feel free to post here! We will all be happy to help!

Have a very great day :)
